The Vision: Making Place Data Useful, Simple, and Powerful

We're building a platform that transforms complex, fragmented government data into a unified, easy-to-use resource. Whether you're a council, developer, researcher, or planner, we want to provide clear, accurate information about locations across the UK. By linking trusted data sources and presenting it visually, we aim to unlock the full potential of place-based insights.

What We're Solving

Government data today is messy. It’s scattered across different websites, hard to compare, and often requires technical knowledge to use. On top of that, datasets are inconsistently labelled, stored in different formats, and refer to the same places using different names. We’re solving these problems by creating a platform that cleans up and connects all this data.

Our Approach

We're implementing a structured pipeline that standardises government datasets using three key steps:

Clear Locations

We resolve messy location data-like postcodes or vague place names-into standard UK geographic units, such as Local Authorities or Output Areas. This ensures all data points are aligned and comparable, no matter their original source.

Smarter Tagging

Using AI, we read through datasets and apply consistent thematic tags-such as education, health, or housing. This makes it easy to search and compare similar data, even if it comes from completely different sources like the ONS, DLUHC, or custom datasets.

Consistent Format

Forget strange spreadsheets and inconsistent columns. We transform every dataset into a standard format that allows for easy comparisons, filtering, and visualisation, so users can focus on insights rather than data preparation.

Search with Natural Language

Rather than sifting through endless files or dropdown menus, users can ask questions in natural language-like “What’s the youth unemployment rate in Birmingham?” Our platform quickly finds the relevant data, explains its meaning, and displays it in a visual format-such as charts or maps-making data easily digestible and actionable.

Brings Together Disconnected Data

We link datasets from across different sources, like ONS, DLUHC, and more, into a single, unified platform.

Enables Smarter Insights

By simplifying access to standardised data, we make it easier to gain meaningful insights that drive decisions.

Saves Time and Effort

Users no longer need to clean, reformat, or reconcile datasets. Everything works seamlessly and is ready for use.

Opens Doors for Innovation

Developers, analysts, and councils can use our structured data outputs directly in their own tools, reports, and applications.

We're building powerful tools that transform complex data into clear, actionable insights, making it accessible for everyone working with place-based information. If you're interested in learning more or partnering with us on this next phase, we’d love to hear from you.
